Our Story

Vacation Chefs was conceived in January 2003, in Charleston, SC by Chef Patrick Bordonaro, a 2002 graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Patrick really wanted to start his own journey with private chef gigs that would allow him to display his own culinary skills as well as continue to expand his repertoire. By working at various restaurants in the Charleston area, from helping open the acclaimed french bistro 39 Rue de Jean to working with contemporary dishes of the Charleston Grill, Blossoms Cafe, Palmetto Cafe and Pampered Palate, Patrick was undoubtedly influenced by many great chefs of the Lowcountry. Patrick and his team have cooked many meals across the Low Country but has a deep appreciation for the beautiful island of Kiawah. Most days you can find him and his team cooking for Inspirato and Exclusive resort members visiting Kiawah as well as residents who live on the island all year long. Vacation Chefs is a full-service caterer specializing in social events, corporate gatherings, and families vacationing in the Low Country. They love building new personal relationships with their clients by providing outstanding customer service alongside delicious, palate pleasing meals.

Chef Patrick has been married to his beautiful wife since 2010. They have 2 adopted and amazing children Bella Grace and Samuel. When they are not cooking and eating together, they love exploring new bike paths or playing at the beach.
